GRIDexpo announces first prominent exhibitors for 2025: E.ON One, envelio, DEHN and PQ Plus to take part in first international trade fair for smart grids

- GRIDexpo will take place in Düsseldorf from 28–30 October 2025.
- E.ON One, envelio, DEHN and PQ Plus are confirmed to be the first prominent exhibitors.
- The trade fair focuses on infrastructure, digital solutions and the new flexibility for the power grids of the future
GRIDexpo – International Trade Fair for Smart Grids announces E.ON One, envelio, DEHN and PQ Plus as its first prominent exhibitors. These companies play an important role in the future of power grids with their innovative technologies and digital solutions.
The success of the climate and energy transition depends to a large extent on the performance of the power grids. Challenges such as the expansion of renewable energies and the electrification of the transport and heating sectors can only be overcome through the sustainable expansion, modernisation and digitalisation of the grid infrastructure – from connections in the home to the local grid station and the maximum voltage level. In addition to new systems and equipment for power grids, this requires intelligent measurement, control and communication technology and digital tools for planning, operating and monitoring. At the same time, intelligent storage solutions, charging and heating technologies as well as hardware and software for their optimised control are needed in order to operate the grids in a sustainable and stable manner.
“For the first time, GRIDexpo offers an international platform that brings together all relevant issues around the transformation of our power grids. The fact that we were able to gain the support of industry leaders E.ON One and envelio as well as DEHN and PQ Plus as exhibitors shows that we have have our finger on the pulse of the market here”, explains Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.
E.ON One: Driver of an all-electric energy society
As the digitalisation subsidiary of energy company E.ON, E.ON One and its start-up ecosystem jointly develop software solutions for infrastructure optimisation in fields such as grid connection, grid operations and energy management. They also provide these solutions to the external market. With its clear focus on grid smartification and process digitalization, E.ON One makes a significant contribution to meeting the challenges of a decentralised and sustainable energy supply.
Tim van Amstel, CEO of E.ON One: “High-performance grid infrastructure forms the backbone of the energy transition. Here at E.ON One, we support the GRIDexpo platform as it enables the energy industry to exchange their insights on smart grids and digital innovation and thus leverage unused potential. The specific focus on this key future topic brings relevant players together to drive new developments and push digital solutions to market more quickly – for a grid infrastructure that can cope with tomorrow’s energy demands.”
envelio: Smart grids for a sustainable future worldwide
Cologne-based Cleantech company envelio leads the European market and supports grid operators with its Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP) in optimising and automating their grid processes. Today, 70 grid operators with more than 35 million connection points use IGP to digitalise their grids. The digital twin enables efficient handling of grid connections and demand-oriented grid expansion, which form the basis for high-performance, flexible smart grids.
Dr. Simon Koopmann, CEO of envelio, adds: “The energy economy faces the great challenge of rapidly and efficiently expanding the grid infrastructure for widespread electrification. Cooperation between companies, knowledge exchange and experience are just as essential here as are the right technological solutions. That’s why we are delighted that GRIDexpo creates an opportunity to bring together the industry as a whole in a focused manner and to drive forward the energy transition.”
DEHN: Experts for tomorrow’s electrical engineering solutions
DEHN specialises on the protection of electric facilities, power and data grids and develops solutions for safe and reliable infrastructure. With its wide portfolio of protective technologies and services, the family company supports grid operators, industrial companies and craftsmen in the areas of electromobility, renewable energy and critical infrastructure. Using its protection concepts in a targeted manner, DEHN helps to minimise risks of failure and to ensure the secure operation of future-oriented power systems.
PQ Plus: Monitoring, storing and evaluating data
As a specialist for energy measuring technology, PQ Plus develops innovative solutions for monitoring, storing and analysing energy data. With its comprehensive portfolio of universal measuring devices, energy meters, software solutions and the corresponding hardware, the company hailing from Upper Franconia supports grid operators, manufacturing industry and trade in using energy more efficiently. Thanks to precise measuring and analysis methods, PQ Plus helps to optimise energy flows and reduce the carbon footprint.
GRIDexpo 2025: The new leading trade fair for intelligent power grids
As the first trade fair of its kind, GRIDexpo centres around digitalisation and the expansion of power grids. The event invites grid operators, energy service providers, local authorities, as well as industrial and commercial consumers, bringing them together with innovative companies from the energy sector. Against the backdrop of the challenges posed by climate change and energy transition, the exhibitors present solutions for the sustainable expansion and digitalisation of grid infrastructure – from residential grid connection to supergrids. Smart measuring, control and communication technologies as well as digital tools for planning, operating and monitoring are the central topics revolving around the creation of future-proof and resilient grids. Technologies for integrating renewable energy, electromobility, smart energy storage solutions and power-based heating technologies are also presented here as they can contribute to the resilience and flexibility of the grids.
